BOE May Restore Substitute Pay Rates In July Vote
Bockville Board of Education signaled plans to restore part of the substitute daily pay cut to back a full time salary raise and aim for a six percent cost of living increase for substitutes. A July 25 decision to review transfer options is set as money sources include estimates of 222000 to return to 30 a day and up to 353000 for possible additional improvements. The board pressed ahead despite superintendent Bernardo’s caution and sought transfers to fund wholly or in part the retroactive pay for long term substitutes and the six percent COLA, with MASt officials urging action.
