West Virginia youth drowns in Potomac River

A 19 year old West Virginia youth, formerly of Myersville, died Tuesday afternoon after entering the Potomac River across from the boat ramp. David Bernard Ausherman, of Bakerton, was with friends when he disappeared after diving from a boat dock. Despite attempts to resuscitate him, he was pronounced dead at Washington County Hospital morgue. An autopsy will be performed to determine cause of death. This marks the second Potomac drowning this week following John David Roulette, 26, of Hagerstown, who drowned Sunday while fishing from a bridge pier.

Design concept approved for Frederick County Courthouse complex

The Citizens' Courthouse Advisory Committee endorsed the design concept for the $9.5 million Frederick County Courthouse and Multi-Service Center. Richard E. Stitely Files for Frederick Mayor Post

Richard E. Stitely, 33, of 08 E. Patrick Sr, filed Monday with the Board of Election Supervisors for Frederick’s mayoral race. The former sheriff candidate cited overspending and concerns about city projects including underground wiring, a parking deck, and the flood plan, claiming taxpayers bear the cost as drains are dug up.
