Bussard Center pitches to Rotary for handicapped employment
Jeanne Bussard Center officials urged Frederick business leaders at a Rotary Club luncheon to hire people with disabilities. Center director Jerry Koons, since 1981, described training, rehabilitation, and work programs, noting 80 clients and funding from earnings, government support, and donations. Dee Smith outlined testing, supported employment, and follow up to ensure good placements. Lilypons Water Gardens president Charlie Thomas praised the program and cited a personal connection to Jeanne Bussard.
