Flyer and Freight Collision Kills Two Firemen
In Williamsport on July 18 a northbound Buffalo flyer carrying Shrine delegates collided with a fast freight on the Pennsylvania Railroad. Two firemen, Charles Sullivan and Frank Crosell, both of Buffalo, were killed in their seats as the wreck occurred at the foot of Keating Summit grade. Five others were injured. Fog and high speed led to the disaster with engines telescoping and wreckage piling up where the men sat. Crosell, due to marry within a month, perished in his accustomed place.
