Changes to solid waste plan approved
Frederick County commissioners approved amendments to the Solid Waste Management Plan on Tuesday night. The plan shifts responsibility for preparing updates to the Bureau of Solid Waste Management, Department of Public Works, while keeping the planning commission's review role. A new Solid Waste Management Advisory Committee is established, goals and policies are clarified, and the county landfill is noted to not accept out of county waste. Provisions require any facility needing Maryland Environment permit to be deemed consistent with the plan.
