Forest Fire Threatens Camp Baker Pine Forest
A wildfire swept 1800 Beotch Pine trees at Camp Baker near Braddock Heights, north of Braddock Meghis, spreading from Noah Belauver to Thomas Mumford lands. Volunteers including District Warden C. Cyril Mieth and Foreman Allen Eline fought the blaze with spray tanks and improvised gear, saving two buildings as flames neared houses and railway tracks. The fire was checked around 3:45 pm and finally contained after burning for hours.
