Frederick man dies when car flips into pond near Mount St. Baty
Frederick County police say David Robert Egbert 23 of Biggs Avenue lost control of a 2000 Hyundai Accent on College Lane around 11:40 p.m. and slammed into a median, then overturned into a pond. He was removed, pronounced dead at Frederick Memorial Hospital. Investigators cite speed, alcohol use, and driver error as factors. Crews from Vigilant Hose Co and other agencies assisted in the rescue. Egbert was alone in the vehicle. the crash remains under investigation.
