Drag racing scene hot with Vega roars and wrecks
A chaotic report from drag racing circles describes Nelson Grimes and Ruth Huth on a Vega and a Pak Rat Funny Car in late rounds at Monrovia track events. It notes engine troubles, last minute fixes, and new track improvements by co-owners to boost safety and class flow. It mentions Marysville and Frederick area participants, the Mason-Dixon Dragway upgrades, and a July 20 lineup including Gene Altizer and the Keystone Kuda with weather denying a prior rain out.
