Highland Street Bridge will close to traffic with no temporary crossing planned. City engineer Michael E. The House Judiciary Committee made public 400 pages of impeachment evidence compiled by its staff on White House efforts to pressure the IRS. The material, largely previously released by the Senate Watergate committee, includes testimony from ex IRS directors and White House aides. Daniel C Poole aged 54 filed as a Democrat for County Commissioner. A farmer operating a 600 acre Jefferson area spread with his brother in law, Poole is a trained auctioneer and former Grayson Mercer real estate salesman. He has served on the county Parks and Recreation Commission and says he relies on character and daily reading of the Wall Street Journal to inform his views.
New York stock traders faced a cautious session as prospects for an early end to the interest rate surge dimmed sentiment. The Dow Jones industrial average dropped 712 points to 77.49 in the first half hour, with losers slightly outnumbering gainers on the New York Stock Exchange.
