The Revolt of the Convicts in Dade County Mines

Nasquinny July 15 special to the American reports a convict camp at Dade Coal and Iron Company in Dale city Dade county Ga in a state of revolt. Convicts refuse to work after guards attempt to load them. Warden Kilpatrick appeals to Atlanta’s Chief Keeper Towers who orders surrender and work but is met with defiance. A conference with ringleaders follows, with demands and details unclear, and the strike continues.
