New Midway Zoo Keeps Exotic Animals Nearby
On Detour Road in New Midway a four and a half acre site hosts Deer Haven Mini Zoo. Brad Gerwig preserves 60 plus exotic and native animals, including pygmy goats and fainting goats, in pens, ponds, and enclosures. Admission is 2.50 for adults and 1 for children. The zoo operates largely on an honor system with hours from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and a gravel lot for visitors.
