State OKs funding for local projects
The State Board of Public Works approved funds for Frederick County projects including Edward P Thomas pool at Baker Park and a Mount St Marys College computer facility in Emmitsburg. The Thomas pool adds a 20 by 30 foot building, bathhouse, and concession area with contracts to Bakley Maginniss and Schidt Construction totaling over 301 thousand dollars. Additional grants fund Brunswick wastewater upgrades, Thurmont land expansion for Community Park, surplus land disposals, and Heartly House rape and sexual assault services. Thirteen Montgomery County parks receive development funding totaling over 1.1 million, with 75 percent provided by Program Open Space and the rest locally.
