Kiwanis Club members toured the C and P Telephone Company's East Patrick street plant after a Friday luncheon. Guides explained the basement tables with hundreds of wire pairs, the central office, switchboard operations, and safeguards for storms and uninterrupted service.

Old Furniture Taken From Bantz Property
Ernest Bantz possessions were removed from his West Patrick street home and stored as the city takes over. About one hundred sacks of old papers and books were gathered, with fifty more needed for remaining literature. Auction cancellation surprised many locals awaiting antiques. W N Jolliffe supervised storage as most antiques were moved. The rear lot was cleared of rubbish though more removal or burning remains. Newspapers dated 1865 were found among clutter. Sugar is the principal product of the Hawaiian Islands.

Baltimore magistrates visit ailing Frank Kelly in Thurmont
Four Baltimore magistrates and several friends traveled to Thurmont to see Democratic leader Frank Kelly who is recovering from illness. They reported Kelly looking much improved and predicted a Democratic victory in the fall elections.
