Bush Briefs Cabinet Congress on Summitry

President Bush briefed Cabinet members and summoned congressional leaders to the White House to review a week of summitry on two continents. He said U.S. positions received very good consideration and that he was very satisfied. The briefing followed a three day summit with leaders of six other major industrial democracies and an earlier NATO gathering in London.

Four-year-old hit by motorcycle in Adamstown, critically injured

A Frederick County boy William C. Carson Jr. near Adamstown ran into the road to pick up a slipper and was struck by a motorcycle in the 4:35 p.m. crash. Mitchell bars capital gains cut without hitting rich

Senate Majority Leader George Mitchell warned that any budget deal including a capital gains tax cut must be paired with higher income taxes on the wealthiest.
