Perini seeks rehearing on Hagerstown nursing home case

Perini Services Inc asks Judge Fred Wright III to reconfirm or revise his June ruling denying the CON permit to build a nursing home in Hagerstown. County approves three year lease hike for DWI center

Frederick County Commissioners approve a new three year lease for the DWI alcohol treatment center at 20 N Court St. The rent rises from 8 to 10 dollars per square foot over the period, totaling 13 840 this year to 17 300 by 1988 for 1 730 square feet. The move to the health department complex is slated for 1988. Commissioners Smith and Stup voted no. Bollinger defended the deal citing lack of cheaper options.

Construction worker falls 16 feet in Maryland house site

Todd Rice of Mussetter Road Tramsville was listed in fair condition at Washington County Hospital after a 16 foot fall onto concrete from a house on Fern Lane in Fountaindale South near U.S. 404. He was treated by Middletown ambulance personnel and airlifted by Maryland State Police helicopter to WCH. State police Trooper William Bergan led the investigation.
