About 328 bushels of cucumbers valued at 2.50 per bushel spilled when a tractor trailer failed the curve at the eastern Lewiston edge and sank into Fishing Creek. Driver Marvin Stancil of Florence, S C, and a white passenger escaped with minor bruises. Salvage attempts were to follow as authorities battled crowding and loss of cargo valued around 1650 with tractor damage about 709. The trailer remained in the stream overnight awaiting removal. No charges filed.

Buzzing Saucer Found on Laurel Lawn
