Folk Craft Weekend returns to Catoctin Mountain Park this summer
Recreation writer Nancy Morris describes Folk Craft Weekends at Catoctin Mountain Park near Thurmont. Demonstrations run noon to 6 pm during weekends, with pottery, broom making, blacksmithing, weaving, and cider press displays plus a living still if permitted. The Round Meadow Camp features historic buildings from the WPA CCC era and the Job Corps. The Blue Blazes Still and Charcoal Trail show early industry, with the park planning craft courses and a visitor-friendly center open Fridays to Sundays.
