Marlboro Official Upset Over Racing Date Transfer
Maryland Racing Commission approved transfer of Slagertown racing dates to Laurel drawing ire from Marlboro track vice president Howard Pierce. He cites a $630000 18 day deal and a separate Marlboro contract promising $6000 per day to Dr. Snavely, arguing a binding agreement and seeking enforcement. The panel said no Marlboro Hagerstown contract was approved and thus it concerns only the two parties.
