Intert ert hearings on car order and coal shortages

Amid industrial protests and threatened wage actions the commission heard statements from Daniel Willard of the railway executive advisory committee urging coop eration among shippers and car shortages to ease freight congestion. He opposed wholly curtailing any commodity and urged maximizing existing capacity through re shipping and better car turnover. A spokesman warned the fight could extend beyond the commission if the order is not modified.

Rent Angel of the Bronx Sentenced in New York Case

Mrs. Allee J. Caveanaugh once linked to the mayor’s rent profiteering committee and dubbed the Rent Angel of the Bronx received a five to ten year sentence in Auburn state prison for fraud against tenants. She had been entrusted with 107 dollars or more in funds pending litigation.
