Maryland Sees Historic Push on Courts and School Building
In a single day in Annapolis Maryland moved toward takeover of all lower courts and school construction while the Senate confirmed the largest number of district judges to date. The Board of Public Works adopted final guidelines for a 150 million school program amid cuts from 445 million in requests and set new deadlines and spending rules for counties. Senate confirmation sessions sparked debate over the selection process and potential inequities in clerks and judge appointments, with concerns about race and gender representation. The move signals a long term reorganization of state government and judiciary policy, with further legislative scrutiny expected next year.

Communication chasm in speaking across generations and nations
The piece argues the so called failure to communicate is really a failure to convert others to our view. It contrasts father and son, citizen and state, and argues misunderstandings stem from different viewpoints not lack of contact. It notes adults and youths often hear but fail to persuade, while governments may talk but not agree.
