Frederick County farmers posted 1964 farm product sales of $25,322,245, nearly $2 million higher than 1959. Farms dropped from 2,306 to 1,833, while average farm size rose from 136 to 157 acres due to mergers and growth in cattle and dairy output. I-70 Work To Begin By August
The State Roads Commission plans partial I-70 construction between Frederick and Hagerstown starting this August. Frederick County sections near Frederick and Middletown Valley have varying start dates, with specific segments set for August 7 and August 16, plus a 2.48 mile block starting August 7 further west.
