Pinch Hits For Speaker At Frederick Kruanes Club

The Frederick Kruanes Club met yesterday at Francis Scott Key Hotel where substitute speaker Harry Ulmer spoke on Personality Development Mental Health and Religion after Joan Malloy Co. Suser Spring could not be present due to broken false teeth. Ulmer warned that God created man but does not treat personality and stressed love in early home life as the base of self worth. He noted too much love harms development and false affection hinders independence. He contrasted healthy and unhealthy personalities and cited that over 650000 are in mental hospitals nationwide and one in twelve children may need such treatment. Vice President Richard R. Kline presided with visitors Asa Watkins James Ramsey and Donald Smith. Kidds Cafe blanked Frederick Democrat 7-0 in the Tui-heht Softball League.

Park Bill Endorsed By County Council

Montgomery County Council endorsed a House bill to preserve the Chesapeake and Ohio Canal as a 10,000 acre national park from Washington to Cumberland. The measure would transform the canal into a park not a drainage ditch, and would remove about 1,250 acres from county tax rolls. The council also hired Richard May Jr. as an industrial zoning consultant for the Maryland National Capital Park and Planning Commission. A seven year old girl sustained a leg wound from a broken bottle, required 15 stitches, and was treated at Frederick Memorial Hospital.
