New York July news reports Martin Thorn and Mrs Augusta Nack indicted by a grand jury for murder in the first degree connected to the Guldensuppe case. They appeared to plead not guilty with Thorn contesting barber Joseph Gartha’s account of a murder confession. Mary Martirelli, 12, fatally burned in Lock Haven Pa from a kerosene can explosion after alledgedly trying to speed a fire despite grandmother’s warning.
Miners walk out under ironclad agreement forfeiting 10 percent of wages, leaving about eleven thousand idle as Wheeling division miners rally for district rate.
