Montgomery County officials canceled a plan to substitute Ride-On buses for school buses, cutting about 2 million from the education budget. Board VP James E. Cronin vows to push for restoration, citing promises from the Office of Management and Budget and the need to avoid delaying bus replacements. He warns the county may extend bus lifespans or pursue a formal resolution to restore funds, while superintendent Wilmer S. Cody notes potential Ride-On coordination but questions cost savings.
