Earthquake Education Program Aims to Demystify Quakes
FEMA backed K six curriculum uses a hard boiled egg model to teach Gibson County students about earthquakes. It clarifies myths about cracks and duration, combines science with safety, and uses hands on activities to reduce fear while promoting literacy across grades from kindergarten to six. The guide, co authored by Gerard Consuegra and Lenny Coplestone, is being piloted in ten states with regional workshops planned and requests for funding to print more copies.
