CBS cancels contract with Nielsen over new ratings system
CBS announced it was canceling its contract with the A C Nielsen Co citing dissatisfaction with the upcoming people meter ratings. CBS vice president David Faltrack said talks could resume before the fall season but the cancellation aims to prevent automatic renewal and keep the door open to future cooperation. Nielsen, Chicago based, provides audience data used by advertisers and broadcasters to set ad rates.
