Frederick City police estimate 30,000 attendees watched the 4th of July fireworks near Baker Park’s bell tower. The 30 minute show, set off by Zambelli and funded by WFMD, began at 9 12 p.m. due to lightning concerns. Activities throughout Baker Park included skateboarding, kite flying, music, theater, and a egg catch contest with prizes for Hartley House.

Seven Die On State Roads During Fourth Of July Weekend
Seven people in Maryland and two in Delaware died in Fourth of July weekend traffic accidents. The Maryland crash near Easton involved a 28 year old man driving off Md 18 into a pole. In Delaware, a 42 year old man died when his pickup left Md 331 and struck a tree, and a 21 year old woman riding a motorcycle on County Route 156 was killed in Cheswald.
