Noted Park Bond Blocked by Voters in Special Election

In a special election voters defeated a $50,000 bond plan for a memorial park honoring fallen soldiers. Out of 1,158 votes, 124 supported the bond while 1,034 were against. Low turnout and higher county taxes contributed to the defeat, with some opposing the park itself rather than the memorial. Precinct results showed broad opposition across areas. Also noted is the passing of Selingsgrove resident Mr. Knapp, age 65, under uncertain cause after a bee sting.
