Harding Plans Acceptance Speech Work at Home

The Associated Press reports Harding will spend the next days clearing a backlog of correspondence and refining his acceptance speech. McAdoo pleased Cox nomination avoided his call

Hangington New York July 6 William G McAdoo learned Governor Cox had won the Democratic presidential nomination. He expressed relief that the expected call did not come to him and indicated he would issue a statement later that day.

Fredericktown Savings Institution Declares 1920 Dividend

The President and Board of Directors of The Fredericktown Savings Institution declare a dividend of 3.1 percent and an extra 1 percent on weekly deposits for the six months ending June 30, 1920. Cheques will be mailed to certificate holders, payable after July 1 1920.

Cox Nomination Set After 44 Ballots At Democratic Convention

James M. Cox governor of Ohio was nominated for President by the Democratic National Convention after 44 ballots. The event included a unanimous motion and a four minute brass band demonstration. Davis of London sent congratulations as the party bridged North and West potential vice presidential possibilities.
