Young voters in Frederick schools and parties face apathy
In Frederick, teens show low priority for politics amid college and social pressures. Republicans claim many residents up to 40 identify as GOP, with youth participation boosted by forums, mentorship ties, and high school debates. Both Young Democrats and Young Republicans pursue registration drives and school outreach to raise 18-year-old involvement while preserving 18 as the voting age. Urban and district groups coordinate with Hood College and local high schools to spur electoral activity.
