Admiral Winslow reports Somme losses and German moves

German losses in the Somme are estimated around 60,000 with few guns captured as artillery was withdrawn to longer ranges. Teuton June Loss 500000 Estimated From Bulletins

Paris reports that central powers have lost 251200 prisoners since June 5 with 232300 on the Russian front and 4700 on the Italian front and 14200 on the Anglo French front. It adds that dead and wounded equal or exceed prisoner losses, implying a minimum of half a million combatants lost in the last month not counting Verdun.
