Archaeological review linked to funded project raises possible delays
An archaeological survey is mandated for federally funded or permitted work under the National Historic Preservation Act. Flakes found at the site suggest brief prehistoric occupation, with potential for a major dig if more artifacts appeared. State agencies reviewed environmental impact and species presence, concluding no significant effects and no changes requested. Further public comments are sought until July before funding is released.
