Harold William Kefauver 88 of 100 Broad St Middletown died Tuesday July 2 at home He was husband of Elizabeth Hooper Kefauver for 67 years Born December 6 1907 in Middletown son of the late William J and Margaret Defauver Kefauver Retired in the mid 1970s after 38 years with the Federal Deposit Insurance Corp He was a life member of Christ Reformed United Church of Christ and served as deacon elder and Sunday school superintendent He played the church chimes daily Kefauver served as commissioner on the Middletown Board of Commissioners instrumental in founding J Elmer Harp Medical Center and served on its board He was a preservationist for the Middletown Town Park recently resigning from that post
