Man held on drug battery charges in Frederick
Frederick man Michael Darnell Beckwith, 19, remains jailed on 100000 bail after being arrested Saturday for possession and distribution of crack cocaine, two days after his release from a 13 month term. Police found 2.3 grams of crack and charged him with drug distribution drug possession battery and resisting arrest.

An off duty Howard County police lieutenant had his 1995 Camaro stolen after leaving it running while he ducked into a gas station. The thief fled with the car as police warned drivers not to leave keys in ignition amid a spate of similar thefts along U S 40. Nine other similar thefts have been reported in the past month.

Firehouse Blaze Destroys Building And Seven Trucks
A fire in SARDINIA Ohio destroyed the town firehouse equipment bay burning the building and seven fire trucks. No one was inside the 38 year old structure when the fire began early Tuesday morning and no injuries were reported. Mount Crab Fire Chief Walt Orlowsky said flames and smoke poured from vents and it took about two hours to bring the fire under control.
