Maryland day care grant opens for low income families
Maryland officials say most of a 5.3 million federal grant to subsidize day care for working parents became available at the start of the state fiscal year in July. The funds aim to help about 3,500 children receive financial aid, keeping parents employed and reducing welfare reliance. The state plans to use over 1 million to boost subsidy amounts for eligible families.
