Poolesville Plant cited act of God for effluent violations
Maryland official notes three months of Poolesville wastewater violations tied to record rainfall and sump pump inflows. Officials plan to contact 300 to 400 Westmont and Westerly residents to reroute sump pumps at an estimated cost of about 300 dollars per home. The plant shows 13 months of compliance in 16 months, with efforts to minimize inflow next spring and possible cost sharing by the town.

Frederick County picks new nursing home director
Randal Fowler of Towson will become administrator of Citizens Nursing Home at 1900 Rosemont Ave and Montevue Home at 305 Montevue Lane. He succeeds Joel Robins, who led the facilities since November 1992 and will head Stone Gardens in Beachwood Ohio. Fowler, selected by the Citizens Nursing Home board, will earn 52581 annually, and previously served as administrator and chaplain of the Baptist Home of Maryland Delaware. He holds a psychology and religion degree from Carson-Newman College and a master's in education from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary.
