Police arrest suspect in car thefts and kidnapping case
A Lebanon man, William J. Eck, 32, was arrested by Pennsylvania State Police at 9:50 p.m. in Brodheadsville after his sister called in a traced pay phone number from a Wawa. Eck, armed with a .22 pistol, resisted as troopers, with multiple departments filing charges including kidnapping, assault, burglary, and handgun violations in Frederick and surrounding counties. He had prior incarceration and a history of convictions since age 17.

Walkersville youth killed in accident
A five year old Walkersville boy died after being struck by a 1978 Ford van on Fast Fourth Street in Frederick. Terrance Bowens was dragged forty two feet and died after arrival at Children’s Hospital in Washington DC. Police say the child darted across toward an ice cream truck and pedestrian error was blamed. No charges were filed against driver Michelle E Sanders.

Nightly Street Sweeper Keeps Frederick Clean and Safe
