Political platform draft in wartime context
The document outlines a Democratic platform aligned with the Virginia plank, praising the administration’s war conduct and praising Pershing’s forces. It criticizes Republican economy claims, urges tax reform, anti profiteering laws, and tariff research by a nonpartisan commission. It supports postal service expansion, railroad efficiency, highway funding, inland waterways, and woman suffrage. It calls for veterans’ benefits, education improvements, and civil service reforms.
