Rap Brown Faces NY Trial Delay in Maryland Riot Case
Atty Gen Francis Burch said H. Rap Brown will not be returned to Maryland soon to face riot and arson charges from the 1967 Cambridge disorder. New York authorities will not extradite until prosecutions there are resolved, possibly after any NY sentence. Brown is recovering from wounds after a police shootout last fall and remains a fugitive from a Maryland warrant issued after his April 1970 disappearance.
