Frederick County posts more than seven thousand dollars for 10 to 15 PEP positions to repair flood damage in July and August. James Bryan says the federal Labor Department will fund 25 existing PEP workers again next year. Frederick to require drinking driver clinic in September
Starting in September, Frederick County District Court judges may order drinking drivers to attend a five week clinic. Joanne Hauver will run the program, developed by a task force including Lt Harold Basore and Del Wallace Hutton, to reduce alcohol related crashes. The course meets weekly with progress reports to the court. Similar programs are in other counties and states with reported success.
