Lee and Brewster Clash Over U S Latin Policy and Desegregation
In Laurel Maryland on Tuesday night Democrats Blair Lee I and Daniel Brewster sparred on Latin American policy and desegregation during a two hour debate. Both praised Kennedy era progress and aligned on most other national issues while differing on farm policy and wage terms. They opposed private school aid and supported federal pay raises with Lee favoring graduated increases. Both urged FCC limits only if self policing fails. Lee favored desegregation more rapidly than Brewster who preferred gradual steps.
