Treaty is Easy for Action on Open Sessions
Washington January 2 two plenary sessions of the Washington conference will be held tomorrow after a naval committee of fifteen reached agreement on fortifications. The talks will cover naval treaty text and Far Eastern questions with reports from subcommittees. Fortifications stay as is in the Pacific, with Britain allowed to fortify certain areas and Japan retaining Kurile and Aleutian holdings. The aim is to maintain the status quo while awaiting final reports. Mrs Spender’s husband mocked a pain remark with a quip about pay.
