Pianist Patricia Bucheimer dies at 56 in Middle Town
Patricia Bucheimer a renowned concert pianist died Wednesday January 28 at her residence on Franklin Street in Middle Town. She was 56 born August 7 1941 in Pine Bluff Arkansas daughter of Helen Bruening and the late Walter Bruening. She grew up in Shreveport graduated Byrd High School studied at Agnes Scott College and earned BA and Master of Music in piano performance from the University of Alabama. At the time of death she was pursuing a Master of Sacred Music.

Rescue Mission distributes donated bread in Frederick
The Frederick Rescue Mission offers more than 50 loaves including Kaiser rolls and Malian bread after two local grocers shared excess supply. Director Kathy Dell says donations help the community and have led to a bread giveaway at the front porch and Bread of Life soup kitchen. Volunteers plan to collect extra for 15 homeless families.

Parents Back Budget Plan For Frederick Schools
About 20 people spoke in favor of the Frederick County Public Schools fiscal 1999 budget proposal. It would add 16 million to last year’s 202 million allocation, funding more computers, the dyslexia program, and teacher raises. The plan allocates 956,739 in operating budget for new computer equipment and training and 4 million in capital for larger items, with a five year technology plan totaling 29.9 million.
