Court Rules No Taxes For Tollroad Station
An oil company operating a state owned service station on the Kennedy Expressway has won a decision exempting it from Har ford County real estate taxes. The Maryland Tax Court ruled in favor of Humble Oil and Refining Co. which protested a 1964 levy of $1,195 on the assessed value of $65,320. The court held Humble was not taxable because the station was a concession in a public place for the general public. The State said it would appeal to Harford County Circuit Court. When published a psychologist who wanted to measure Machiavellianism could look up the term and find tests available and which best suit purpose.
