Fire damages house on Lander Road in Jefferson
Fire caused about $4,000 damage to a house at 2740 Lander Road on Tuesday afternoon. Officials attributed the blaze to an electrical problem in the basement panel. Ronald and Patsy Cooper were away dining when a relative spotted smoke from the basement and garage. Jefferson Brunswick and Carroll Manor firefighters controlled the fire in about 15 minutes.

Suspicious shed fire on Fingerboard Road
Firefighters from Green Valley responded to a 10 by 16 foot wooden shed fire on Fingerboard Road owned by Earl Cochran. Heavy smoke was visible shortly after 7:20 a.m. A refrigerator and tools were stored inside. Firefighters saved the shed at 12518 Fingerboard Road. Deputy state fire marshal Ted Meminger said the blaze is under investigation.

Man Charged After Wolfsville Drug Raid
Frederick County man Robert E. Nelson, 32, of Welfsville Road, faces marijuana and drug paraphernalia counts plus motor vehicle charges after a 5:40 a.m. raid at his home by federal and local police.
