Snow May Cut County Road Building in 1961
County Commissioners warned ongoing winter snow likely to reduce the 1961 road program. Costs to clear snow this year exceed prior totals, with December at about 40000 dollars and ongoing snow removal consuming funds meant for new roads. Each snow implies at least one mile less of new road work, and frost damage from cold snaps threatens repairs. The 1961 plan estimated about 25 miles of new roads plus carryover and new acquisitions.
