Fire leaves Carroll family homeless in Keymar
A two alarm fire on Id. 194 near Keymar Sunday night left a Carroll County family homeless. The Wolfe home sustained heavy damage after starting near a chimney on a wood stove. Deputy Chief Al Ward said two refighters were injured. Jim Harris was treated on scene for an ember in his eye and Steve Barber was taken to Frederick Memorial Hospital when roof debris fell. The fire was controlled in about two hours causing roughly $105,000 in damage. Red Cross is assisting the victims.

High speed chase ends with arrest in Martinsburg case
Kevin Wayne Huff, 25, was charged in Maryland with fleeing and eluding as speeds topped 95 mph during a chase from Jefferson County to Martinsburg. Chase ends theft by two 17 year olds in Hyattstown
Two 17-year-old Prince George's County youths were arrested by Maryland State Police Trooper James Denter after stealing a car from a Hyattstown convenience store. The vehicle fled on Md. 355 then Spectrum Drive before stopping behind a bank. one youth fled but was captured, the other blocked by a jammed door.
