Ambulance calls total Emergency 45 and Routine 2.

Frederick teacher charged with child abuse and sex offenses
Frederick City Police report 29 year old Gary E. Booth of Coatsbridge Place was arrested Sunday afternoon on child abuse and third and fourth degree sex offense charges plus assault and battery. He was placed in the Frederick County Adult Detention Center awaiting a bond hearing. The alleged offenses occurred at his home while he was a teacher at South Frederick Elementary School. He has since transferred to another local elementary school and the investigation identified a 10 year old boy as the victim. Cpl. Robert Servacek led the inquiry.

Frederick man dies in Meadow Road crash
Walter Lee O'Brien 27 of Frederick died at the scene after a single vehicle crash on Meadow Road off Md 14. He drove a Ford Bronco I south, lost control, and overturned into a drainage ditch. Speed and driver error cited as contributing factors by Deputy Selby.
