Park Plan Prompts County Officials to Consider State Grant
A 1000 acre State Park in northern Montgomery County could become a reality after County Councilman Athrop E. South announced discussions with State forestry officials. The tentative plan places the woodland reserve along Seneca Creek between Routes 240 and 28, aiming to protect the watershed and provide reforestation, with a farm already donated for the project. The cost to the county would be minimal if the State approves funding for establishment and maintenance.

Divorce decline as Americans reexamine marriage vows
Divorces show an ongoing downward trend after wartime spikes. 1949 figures reach about 1,000,000 with 1948 at 422,000 and 1950 estimates still dropping. Peak divorce rates since 1946 are likely surpassed, as young people face disruptions from war era changes and broader opportunities.
