In Dorchester a Boston woman identified as Martha Matson Tenters a 30 year old Woman's Army Corps sergeant at Fort Devens was beaten to death with a hammer. Her husband Anthony Tenters 30 confessed after walking into police headquarters and was shot by Captain Francis Willson while recounting the events. He said an uncontrollable urge led him to strike during preparations to take their son to his sister's house. He claimed he beat her with his fists strangled her and then hammered her head before stabbing her chest three times with a pocketknife.
